Alice Maurice Evans, age 94, was born on May 22, 1920,
to Roy and Beulah (Lancaster) Moore in Brisol, TX. She met her
maker on January 7, 2015, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Graveside services will be Monday, 2:00 p.m., January 12, 2015,
at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, OK., with Chaplain Scott Liner of
Crossroads Hospice officiating, under the direction of Community
Alice is preceded in death by two husbands, Joe A. Grimes
and Jim Evans, one brother Clayton Moore of Dallas, TX, two sisters
Margie Shaffer and her husband Jack of Alta Loma, TX, sister Catherine
Moore of Dallas, TX and grandson Wesley Grimes of Guthrie, OK.
She is survived by her son Joe Grimes and wife Sharon of
Guthrie, OK., a granddaughter Joanna Grimes, two great grandchildren
Paige and Joe Rodriguez, and one great-great grandson Grayson all of
Alice joined the United States Army at age 22 and was the first
woman from Grayson County to enlist in the armed forces. She
soon reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. She had a very full and
active life. Alice will be missed by all who knew her.
Viewing for family and friends will be Monday, January
12, 2015, at Community Funeral Home Chapel, from 10:00 a.m.
