Obituary

Archie Oliver Starks was born March 10, 1917, and passed away May 4, 2015, at his farm in Meridian, OK.

Archie survived by his wife of 68 years, Edna Ruth Starks, 3 sons, Derral, Keith and Stanley Starks, all of the home, and 1 daughter, Arlene Ray of Stillwater. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jason, Josh and Jordyn Starks; Cory, Nathan, and Jesse Ray, John and Oliver Wolfington, Brandy Evans, Jamie Lucario, and Stacey Voight, along with 13 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene Wolfington, his parents, James and Mary Ellen Starks, a granddaughter, Jenny Kay Starks, one daughter in law, and one son in law, along with 3 brothers and 7 sisters.

Archie started school in McKinley and later finished at Meridian, OK. He then enlisted with the Army and was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Archie was the oldest living Veteran in Logan County. After the war, he married Ruth, sired his 5 children and built his farm, which he continued to operate and love throughout his life.

His service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Guthrie, OK. He will be buried in McKinley Cemetery in Meridian, OK following the service. Services are under the care of Community Funeral Home.
