Lois Irene Strain was born December 20, 1927 in Rogers City, Michigan to Hazel and Daniel Kelly.  She had two brothers and one sister, all are deceased.

Lois was brought in contact with God's way by her grandparents and made her choice to serve God at the age of 19.  She took nurses training and became an in-home caregiver.  At one time she was caring for the three Holland sisters, Maude, Mabel, and Kathleen, all were workers.  She cared for various friends and workers, and took care of Mrs. Gabriel Strain until her death, then Gabriel asked her to stay and care for him, and he proposed marriage, which she accepted.  He was good to her and it was a mutually rewarding arrangement.  She got an immediate family upon the marriage, and is survived by three grandchildren, Carol Patterson of Belmont, California, Dianne Allison and husband Vern of North Carolina, and Thomas Strain and wife Julie of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.  Lois moved to Redbud Canyon in January of 2019 and remained until June of 2021 when she moved to Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie.
