Ronald Keith Johnson

September 4, 1938 ~ April 13, 2019 (age 80)


Ronald Keith Johnson was born in St. Helen's, Oregon on September 4, 1938, to Oren and Ruth Johnson. He passed from this earth in Guthrie, Oklahoma on April 13, 2019.

Ron made his choice to serve God at a convention meeting at the age of 12. He joined the Army for a short period and in 1964 he entered the ministry and was in Oregon for six years before going to Montana/Wyoming, where he stayed for 23 years. After a short time in Minnesota he came to Oklahoma in 2000 and stayed 10 years. He spent his last active years in the work in Tennessee/Georgia. He came to Redbud Canyon on September 7, 2016. Ron was very interested in his family genealogy and history, and wrote a book, "Panther Valley Pathways" about that. He was also an avid birdwatcher and very knowledge about them.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert and cousin, Royce Dailey. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Claudia Johnson Peterson of St. Helen's, Oregon, his nephews, Randy Johnson, of Pikeville, Kentucky, Terry Johnson, of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Mark Johnson, of St. Helen's, his niece, Lisa Soule of Ranier, Oregon, and three cousins, Joanne Widme, Patricia Applegate, of St. Helen's and Cynthia Garnett, of Seattle, Washington.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Community Funeral Home at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 1624 N. Pine St., Guthrie, Oklahoma, 73044, on Friday, April 19, 2019, at 2:00 pm.

Ron's family is planning a memorial service in Oregon at a later date.
