“How Ya Like Me Now”
On August 15, at 8:40 pm, our family saw another angel return to heaven. Russell Vernon Clay, born on July 13,1951, in Logan County Oklahoma, passed away in Crescent, Oklahoma with his loving and caring daughter at his side. He was a devoted father and friend to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Russell Clay spent many years working in the oilfield as a derrick hand as well as a driller. He went on for many years as a truck driver and employee of both Oklahoma County District #3 and Logan County District #1, hauling rock and dirt to help fix roads and other places they sent him to work. Before he retired, Russell was a transport driver for RDT Trucking and Bostic Transportation. There he hauled salt water and spent many hours working away from home and the family he loved so much.
Russell married Patricia Spooner on March 27,1972. They had four children they raised in Crescent.
Russell is preceded in death by Glenn Clay from Crescent Ok and Gary Clay and Sharon Jurina of Guthrie, Oklahoma and by his twin grandchildren; Charlie James Clay and Theodore Alexander Clay.
He is survived by his children, Kevin Clay and wife, Sara, of Spring, Tx, Travis Clay of Crescent, Shawn Clay and wife, Cassandra of Hawaii and Misti Friend and husband, Michael of Crescent. Russell is also survived by 10 grand-children; Callib Brewer, Joshua Brewer of Guthrie Ok, Desiree Brewer, Dylan Clay, Alex Clay of Crescent, Ok, Ryan Clay of Shawnee, Ok, Justin Clay of Port Labaca, Tx, Tyler Clay, Emily Clay of Spring Tx, Jacob Clay of Mission Valley, Tx, Alexandria Jackson of Eatonton, Ga, Rebekah Tubbs, Lauren Tubbs and Austin Tubbs of Spring Tx, and his four great-grandchildren; Olivia Guivas, Aiden Clay, Rowan Clay, Rylee Clay.
