Obituary

Wilbur Lewis Davis was born September 11, 1934 in Lowell Massachusetts and passed to his rest on January 6, 2020 in Edmond, Oklahoma after a long and difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

“Bill” was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Beatrice Davis of Lowell, Massachusetts, his wife, Shirley Jean Davis after 54 years of marriage, and his sister, Barbara Champagne of Sun City, Florida. He is survived by his three children, Linda S. Baker and her husband Doug Baker of Edmond, OK, Ronald L Davis of Brockton, Massachusetts, and Bill C. Davis and his wife, Kathryn Diamond-Davis of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Davis of Fitzgerald, Georgia and his wife Martha Davis along with his sister, Joyce Sheehan of Dover, New Hampshire along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was an electrical engineer who began his career with Raytheon Company in Massachusetts after serving with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He later worked for the Federal Government for many years as an engineer, first in Washington, D.C. and later at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, OK. He will be greatly missed by his family and now awaits the call of the Great Life-Giver, Jesus, at the Second Coming. It is the family’s wish that donations be made to Catholic Charities in lieu of flowers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home, 1624 N Pine Street, Guthrie, OK with interment following in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
